“My vision in creating Equitas was based on the perspective of a commercial lawyer who has seen too many situations where people seek professional help in resolving family disputes when it is too late or when they seek the hard skills of a lawyer or an accountant to do an estate plan when they have not yet sorted out some important underlying issues. I wanted to create a business which would encourage people to be proactive, to address issues in a healthy and constructive manner with a view to the best interests of the business and the family. To me, that is better justice than could ever be provided by the justice system. Hence the name Equitas, which is Latin for fairness and justice. ”
